FAIRHAVEN AND TOWNLEY SHOW REVIEW
Townley show report
This was the first
time back to Burnley for the club for 2 years. Its such a nice venue and you are
always made welcome, but as we set the stand up and you looked around there
didn't seem half as many cars or stalls as in past years. There wasn't even a fun
fair for the kids unless you call one lorry with a fun house and 2 side stalls a
fair! The weather didn't let us down as Townley hall shows go; it rained again!
As for the club 3 cars and 4 people myself ( Steve mk3 ) Steve and Andrew Tilley
(mk2 saloon )and Ian in his ( black mk2 ) with the flags, bunting, etc the stand
didn't look to bad we had lots of interest in the club with info given out so
hopefully some new members.
Fairhaven show report
The day started out with a 5 car convoy from
Chorley with myself (Steve mk3 Granada Cosworth estate) Steve Tilley (mk2), Andrew Tilley
(Sierra
Cosworth), John Crawford (xr3i ), and last but not least Mr Ronnie Bradley
(mk2). Yes you'd better believe it! Ronnie at a show! I even think he had washed behind
his ears! It was a nice easy run to the venue. Ian (mk2) and Jim (mk2) had
just arrived before us making 7 cars in total. It was a great turn out for the club show day.
Steve had said "there could be someone else to come". Rod and Anne arrived
in a mk2 and parked up then joined the club, so we would like to welcome them as our newest members.
It was a nice day but a little cold. I had had some t-shirts printed
up for the club and they really looked the part with the club logo on them. These shirts came to the club as a gift from Steve and
Sue Tilley and a big
thanks must go to them as this was the show day the club needed. Some judging was done by 4 different people:- 2 members from the Cortina club, Gary Mullineaux and a member from the Blackpool Vehicle Preservation Group.
It was very good of these people to give their time and the club would like to thank them for this.
After what seemed
hours the paperwork was given back and this was the outcome for the cars in the
different classes:-
1st mk2
Rod Smith
2nd mk2 Ian Hawle
3rd mk2 Ronnie Bradley
1st mk3 Steve Sadler
Best bodywork Andrew Tilley

Best interior Steve Sadler
Granada Cosworth mk3
Best engine bay
Rod Smith mk2
None Granada cars
1st Andrew Tilley

2nd John Crawford xr3i

A big thanks to everybody for their help with the
show day from paperwork, judging, etc
regards Steve
Sadler.
