Granada Members Guild History
The Granada Members Guild was formed by members of the Granada Enthusiasts Club
when they decided to do their own thing. In 2000 the GMG was formed and our
current show organiser, Steve Sadler. was one of the founder members. The club
met in Chorley at first, and after several changes of venue, now meets in Westhoughton.
The meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. The club members
meet socially also and usually have a "do" of some kind at Christmas, i.e. a
meal or a night out. Annual subscriptions are £15 per year, commencing in
January and ending in December. The club has the usual constitution and a full
committee to safeguard members interests. Our show calendar starts in May and
runs throughout the year until October. Venues are often in Lancashire, The West
Coast and latterly also in Yorkshire.
We do occasionally venture further afield, to Cholmondley Castle in Shropshire,
for example.
All outings are held on Sundays, excepting possibly the Calendar August Bank
Holiday week-end, which is a wonderful trip to bonny Scotland. Membership of the
club has a lot to offer, apart from the usual camaraderie and chat, we have
"technical experts" who can help with problems and also many contacts with
regards to spares and parts as well as info on vehicles for sale etc. We carry
our own stock of club regalia and have a strong idea of our own identity and are
keen to preserve it. If you are looking for a small friendly club, with a
genuine all-embracing approach to all matters automotive, give us a try, what
have you got to loose?
